How to use Vanij (15 min setup)

Step 1 — Create your account

Go to Signup, enter name, email and password. You'll land on the Dashboard. Free plan works immediately.

Step 2 — Log your first trade

Click + Add trade. Fill: Symbol (e.g. RELIANCE, BANKNIFTY24FEB, BTC), Side LONG/SHORT, Qty, Entry & Exit price, Dates, Strategy (e.g. "Breakout retest", "Expiry scalp"), Emotion (e.g. "Disciplined", "FOMO", "Revenge"), fees and notes. Leave exit empty for open positions — P&L computes on close.

Step 3 — Use tags well (the secret sauce)

Keep strategy names consistent — 3 to 5 setups max. Examples: Breakout-retest, VWAP-bounce, Option-selling-0DTE. Emotions: Disciplined, Patient, FOMO, Revenge, Bored. After 30 trades the Strategy Lab will rank them by net P&L.

Step 4 — Import history (Pro+)

Export your broker ledger as CSV with columns: symbol,side,qty,entry_price,exit_price,entry_date,exit_date,strategy,fees. Use the dashboard's Import button. Sample:

Step 5 — Weekly review ritual (20 min)

• Open dashboard → check win-rate, expectancy, profit factor.
• Sort worst 5 trades — was it setup or emotion?
• Check emotion report — if "Revenge" is negative, add a rule (e.g. max 2 losses/day → stop).
• Pick ONE fix for next week. Journaling compounds like interest.

Step 6 — Risk basics

Risk 0.5–1% per trade. Position size = (Capital × Risk%) ÷ (Entry − Stop). Elite plan includes a calculator. Never average a loser without a pre-defined plan.

Pro tips

• Write the note before entry: "why this trade, where am I wrong?"
• Log screenshots links in Notes (chart image URL).
• Review monthly by symbol — many traders find 2–3 symbols drive 80% of profit.
• Export CSV monthly as backup: dashboard → Export.
